These subspecialties include nephrology, hepatology, immunology, infectious disease, endocrinology, gastroenterology, psychiatry, and geriatrics. Nurses on 4 Riverstone have a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative framework with an interdisciplinary team. Patients often have multiple diagnoses including, but not limited to, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, acute and chronic renal failure, cellulitis, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute and chronic liver failure, and other generalized medical conditions. Discharge planning is an important component of the patient’s care; nurses collaborate daily with case managers, social workers, pharmacists, and therapists to develop individual patient care plans. 4 Riverstone provides a professional and stimulating environment where critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork is both nurtured and expected.nnStaff members include RN’s, LPN’s, Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Assistants, and Health Unit Coordinators who work together to provide exceptional patient care. We have a supportive environment and orientation is tailored to you needs.nnIf you are team minded and enjoy a variety of medical conditions, then our Complex Medical Unit is a place to call home.nnPosition Summary:nnThe LPN/LVN II will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit.nnRecruiter: Jason Shubert || || 865-374-5393nnResponsibilitiesnnInitiates admission database and history, and in collaboration with the RN implements patient and family teaching and care needs.nnPractices in compliance with all regulatory standards and adheres to all hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties.nnPerforms and prioritizes nursing care tasks.nnAccurately follows the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of a RN.nnObserves and reports nursing interventions and patient responses, and documents in a timely, concise and legible manner.nnRecognizes, responds, and reports changes in patient conditions to RN Team Leader.nnParticipates in unit specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested.nnDemonstrates principles of infection control; collaborates with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and personnel.nnAssists in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.nnAdministers IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids per established hospital protocol.nnPerforms specific advanced patient care treatments as approved to perform per hospital protocol.nnFollows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually.
