The department services step down critical care, general medical, and surgical patients. Our staffing mix includes RNs, LPNs, CNAs and HUCs. Our multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, nutritionists, case managers and direct care staff meet daily to discuss patients conditions and progress toward their discharge plan. We serve a rapidly growing community with a wide age range. Our staff involves family in the care of the patient through participation and education of the patients medical condition. FLMC is committed to providing excellent patient care and an exceptional practice environment for our staff.nnPosition Summary:nnThe LPN/LVN I will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit.nnRecruiter: Brittany Partello || || (865) 374-5363nnResponsibilitiesnnInitiates admission database and history, and in collaboration with the RN implements patient and family teaching and care needs.nnPractices in compliance with all regulatory standards and adheres to all hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties.nnPerforms and prioritizes nursing care tasks.nnAccurately follows the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of RN.nnObserves and reports nursing interventions and patient responses, and documents in a timely, concise and legible manner.nnRecognizes, responds and reports changes in patient conditions to RN Team Leader.nnParticipates in unit specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested.nnDemonstrates principles of infection control; collaborates with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and personnel.nnAssists in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.nnDemonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.nnFollows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually.
