Trade Compliance Coordinator – Chemicals

Position Summary:
The Trade Compliance Coordinator is responsible for managing trade compliance, regulatory tasks, and risk management within the Operations Department. This role also includes administrative support and backup functions, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Compliance and Regulatory Tasks:
- Prepare and transmit shippers’ export declarations and importer security filings accurately and on time.
- Handle dangerous goods declarations and drawback processing.
- Review and process import customs entry clearance, instructions, and entry packet reviews.
- Manage compliance with regulations such as USMCA, TSCA, FDA, and GHS hazardous communication standards.
- Conduct restricted party screenings (OFAC, EAR, ITAR) and prepare biological origin declarations.
- Submit TSCA polymer exemptions and other regulatory notifications as required.
- Maintain product SDSs and regulatory information for the Itasca location using MS Teams.
Operational Support:
- Respond promptly to internal and external regulatory requests, primarily via email.
- Utilize and update the company’s CRM and Mezzanine applications with product and compliance data.
- Assist customer drawback brokers with entry packet information.
- Provide accurate delivery orders with reliable ship-to identification.
- Perform backup functions during periods of absence within the Trade Compliance Department.
Process Improvement and Knowledge Development:
- Identify opportunities to enhance company processes for increased productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain certifications in transport regulations and participate in educational workshops as requested by management.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Proficiency in trade compliance tasks and regulatory processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Primarily office-based, using standard office equipment.
- Occasionally required to lift items up to 20 pounds.
- Full-time, Hybrid, Monday through Friday, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
- May require travel for business purposes; valid driver’s license and/or passport may be necessary.
