JOB SUMMARY:
The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the company's workers' compensation program, including handling claims, creating and delivering safety training, and ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. This role involves working closely with employees and the insurance provider to manage on-the-job injury cases, file necessary documentation, and promote a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Workers’ Compensation Management : Serve as the main liaison with the insurance provider for all workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate claim filing. Gather and submit relevant documentation for each claim.
· Incident Reporting : Work directly with employees to gather details for incident and accident reports when a workplace injury occurs. Document injuries thoroughly and facilitate follow-up as needed.
· Safety Training & Education: Design, develop, and conduct safety training sessions tailored to different job functions, educating employees on best practices and accident prevention strategies.
· OSHA Compliance : Complete and maintain OSHA-required documentation, including incident logs, injury reports, and other forms. Ensure company practices align with OSHA standards and guidelines.
· Risk Assessment : Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace, providing recommendations for corrective actions to prevent accidents and improve overall safety.
· Data Analysis : Track, analyze, and report on workers’ compensation data, identifying trends, and making recommendations to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace injuries.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED COMPETENCIES:
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation insurance processes, and incident reporting protocols.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to prioritize work with shifting deadlines.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to link issues and apply big picture thinking to individual issues.
- Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 2-5 years in workers’ compensation, workplace safety, or a similar field.
