Position Overview:

We are seeking a Production Manager- Food Manufacturing to lead all daily operations across our food production facilities in Linden and Newark, NJ. This key leadership role is responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture. The Production Manager will directly impact plant performance through strategic planning, operational oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

• Oversee the daily production and manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with policies, procedures, and schedules at both Linden and Newark facilities.
• Manage and optimize resources (Man, Material, Machine) to produce quality goods on time and efficiently.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Safety and Compliance
• Maintain full compliance with GMP, USDA, and FDA standards.
• Enforce safety protocols to provide a secure and accident-free environment.
• Proactively address safety issues and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage and mentor a team of production staff across both locations, promoting a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
• Develop and implement training programs for new and existing team members, focusing on technical skills and personal development.
• Provide regular coaching and one-on-one development plans for direct reports.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive initiatives to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance across both facilities.
• Analyze operational data to identify and implement process improvements.

Communication and Reporting

• Collaborate with supporting departments to ensure alignment on production schedules, maintenance plans, and delivery timelines.
• Prepare and present production reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and analyze trends to drive corrective actions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: At least 5 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing, with a proven track record of managing production teams.
• Education: A 4-year degree is preferred but not required. Relevant experience will be considered.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and production management software. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
• Leadership Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to lead and influence others, and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure and drive change in a fast-paced environment.
