Job Description

Overall Descriptions of the Position:

An asbestos attorney is responsible for conducting depositions of fact and expert witnesses; developing, sending, and responding to discovery; effectively communicating with clients; researching and drafting motions and briefs; and generally working up an asbestos-disease case from intake to trial.

Position Requirements:

  • 2-4 years attorney experience - asbestos experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and well-organized
  • Ability to problem solve and strategize
  • Compassion for helping terminally sick clients
  • Adaptable and responsive to client needs based on health status


Position Duties (including, but not limited to):

  • Assist Supervising Attorney with case work up and motions
  • Conduct client and witness interviews to obtain and evaluate information
  • Depose witnesses and clients
  • Appear in court as needed
  • Assist with Plaintiff's discovery preparation
  • Assist in returning and responding to client and defense counsel communication
  • Gather and analyze information by examining records such as Social Security, Medical, Military, and Union records
  • Delegate assignments to team paralegals and legal assistants

Education, Certificates and Licenses:

  • Licensed to practice Law in the State of New York (required) and State of New Jersey and Pennsylvania (preferred)
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check
