LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Leader near Elgin, IL to oversee a multi-site manufacturing operations in the chemical, oil and gas, paint, resins, or coatings manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful operations leadership, strong decision-making abilities, and the capacity to drive continuous improvement initiatives across all facilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Oversee and manage all manufacturing sites' operations, ensuring compliance with quality directives and guidelines. Coordinate and align production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and control the annual operating and capital budgets for all sites. Ensure effective allocation of resources to achieve operational and financial objectives.
- HSE Compliance: Manage Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives, ensuring all facilities operate within regulatory guidelines and maintain a culture of safety.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish and promote a culture of continuous improvement, implementing programs to enhance operational efficiency and reduce resource consumption (electricity, natural gas, water).
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of 9 direct reports, conducting regular performance reviews and providing coaching to foster professional development. Identify and nurture future leadership talent within the organization.
- Facilities Management: Oversee all Facilities’ activities, ensuring the effective management of plant infrastructure and capital spending.
- Performance Evaluation: Measure and report on progress toward company objectives, evaluating departmental performance and individual contributions to established goals.
- Relationship Building: Maintain and encourage productive working relationships within the team, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of operations leadership experience with multi-site manufacturing experience.
- Proven decision-making skills with a strong track record of achieving operational excellence.
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
- Industry experience in chemical, oil and gas, paint, resins, or coatings manufacturing environments.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to domestic manufacturing sites.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
