Salary: $79,000.00 - $110,000.00

Must Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with procurement, contracting, and strategic sourcing.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Zycus, or other similar procurement software.
• Strong financial analytical skills, oral and written communication skills.
• Soft skills, this person needs to be able to facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Plusses:

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Business or related field.
• Experience in the electric utilities industry.
• Experience in a Category Management role.
• Experience with SRM (Supplier Relationship Management).

Day-to-Day:

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Category Manager to join their team in either Wichita, KS, Topeka, KS, or Kansas City, MO. The Category Manager is responsible for long-term planning, strategy development, and leading continuous improvement of assigned categories of spend. A key part of the Category Manager's role involves completing several large procurement initiatives per year by working with cross functional teams that use analysis of historical spend data, market research, and cost modeling to identify high value opportunities and qualified suppliers. The Category Manager is also responsible for managing supplier relationships and performance. Additionally, the Category Manager will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and risk mitigation to the business.
