Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support a federal client in Suffolk, VA. The UI/UX Designer will be supporting a federal program that's responsible for training military forces to respond to crises around the globe. From armed conflict to providing humanitarian support after natural disasters, this force relies on joint training across all military branches, Combatant Commands, and Components to be ready to respond at a moment’s notice. This specific team supports this effort in building the technical capabilities that this force relies on. They develop exercise planning, data, and simulation systems that mimic real life environments and weapons systems. The UI/UX designer should be a recent college graduate with some UX background (user experience, graphic artist, or web application designer experience with HTML or CSS). The UI/UX designer will report to the design team lead and work alongside the current UX Designer across all the products now. The UI/UX Designer will work mostly remote but go on-site occasionally. They will monitor procedures, design standards and help with the general designs of the systems. They will also have daily touch points with the design lead and other designer to collaborate on learning the standards and getting acclimated with the systems. This position will not only include graphic art design but also user experience and the designer will need to be comfortable with sitting in on requirements meetings, providing solutions to other designers, drafting up the solutions, and make executive decisions when necessary. This team will be supporting a federal program that is responsible for training military forces to respond to crises around the globe. They specifically support the building of technical capabilities that this program relies on.


- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field - 0-2 years' experience in graphic design and user experience - Experience working with HTML and/or CSS - Eligible to obtain Secret Clearance


• Internships or experience as a UI/UX Designer, Graphics Designer, or similar role

• Experience with consumer brand experience design and an understanding of storytelling

• Experience in designing cross platform experiences

• Experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping

• Ability to extract complex concepts and quickly turn around rigorous flows and mock-ups reflecting a range of options

• Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently

• Ability to proficiently present design solutions to stakeholders in design, product management, and engineering

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
