Christie Clinic's department of Infusion Center is seeking a full-time RN Specialist/Administrative Coordinator from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at the Fields location.
Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Possession of, or in the process of obtaining, an Illinois State Registerd Nurse License, CPR, ACLS, and proficient IV skills are required.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
- Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
- Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and pharmacy's regarding medication shipment, authorizations, etc.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
- Demonstrate the ability and proper education to prepare/mix prescribed medications.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.
- Administer IV's for Chemotherapy and/or Phlebotomy.
- Perform related work as directed, by coordinator and as required.
- Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit.
- Maintain relevant IV supplies, medications, and office supplies for department effectiveness.
- Act as a time clock manager.
- Establish and maintain staffing schedule weekly/monthly- stagger coverage as needed for patient care and to better utilize the space available.
- Approve staff member vacation and time off requests. Request float staff as needed.
- Interview prospective staff members. Oversee the training of new staff members.
- Perform conflict control throughout the department.
- Attend coordinator meetings as required. Following coordinator meetings, inform employees of any new information pertinent to their position.
- Assist in creating and maintaining department budget.
- Conduct job evaluations and ensure that employees are up to date on department policies and procedures.
- Appease patient complaints.
- Prevent distractions within the department and keep employees on task.
- Oversee all operational functions of the office practice.
- Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Graduation from an accredited college/school of nursing
- Evidence of annual completion of health-related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU's
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and bodily fluids. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
