Christie Clinic's department of Family Medicine in Rantoul is seeking a full-time RN or LPN from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required and professional nursing experience is preferred. Possession of, or in the process of obtaining, an Illinois RN or LPN license is required.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
- Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
- Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
- Arrange for patient testing and admission.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment to ensure patients with emergency situations are given priority, and documenting appropriately.
- Attend and participate in departmental huddles.
- Obtain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc.
- Administer injections.
- Send prescription refills.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, etc.
- Administer IV therapy and push IV medications.
- Perform related work as required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
