JOB FUNCTION:

n- This position should be a person who has a significant knowledge of most repairs, overhauls, and maintenance of equipment.
n- This person is usually capable of working alone and with minimal supervision
n
n
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
n
n- Performs PM Inspections.
n- Performs Post Trip Inspections.
n- Repairs and replaces tires, clutches and brakes.
n- Performs complete engine overhaul.
n- Completes differential, transmission and driveline overhead.
n- Repair and replacement of any bolt on item.
n- Complete inspection and repair of all special equipment.
n- Major electrical repair.
n- Performs mentorship/training to lower level mechanics.
n- May be required to work temporarily at field locations maintaining/repairing equipment.
n- Performs other duties as directed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

n- Ability to carry/lift up to 75 lbs.
n- Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves heavy manual labor.
n- Ability to maintain alertness and acuity that is not typically impaired by any medication, diet, or physical condition.
n- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit and maneuver in confined spaces.
n- Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc.
n- Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
n- Must be able to determine how to weld/repair equipment in the most effective manner.
n- Must determine safest method of performing job. Must be able to work in reflected heat of welding equipment

Required Experience
n
QUALIFICATIONS:
n
n- 2 Years of technical school, or on the job experience preferred.
n- High school education acceptable.
n- Specific exposure to an equipment or maintenance environment.
n- Knowledge of basic hand tools for general equipment repair.
n- Equipment systems experience a plus.
n- Must have effective oral and written communications effective listening skills, and ability to interact with others.
n- Professional oral and written interpersonal communication ideal.
n- 3-4 years of diesel shop experience acceptable.
n- 4 or more years of diesel shop experience preferred.
