Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules and baselines and ensure baseline changes are managed through an approved Project Change Notice (PCN).
- Monitor and control all activities through the planning and execution phases.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as required to accurately develop and maintain assigned project schedules.
- Provide regular schedule performance reports, analysis and advice to Project Coordinators and the Manager of Projects.
- Apply earned value management tools and techniques to interpret data and provide timely insight and recommendations on project and program performance.
- Maintain key project milestones and identify any schedule risks in achieving these milestones.
- Ensure consistent and robust implementation of planning and scheduling processes across the program of works.
- Assist optimization of portfolio level plan by integrating deliverables including, work breakdown structure and resource loading across the different project part of the portfolio.
- Input into the development of standard planning procedures, guidelines, templates, coding to allow consistent planning protocols across the planning team and support compliance to the Client's standards.
- Monitor production with a focus on insuring correct resources are deployed at the right time to each project.
- Produce plans and schedules of work including visual aids such as bar charts, procedures, and diagrams.
- Monitor project progress closely
- Compare progress with client programs and maintain contract deadlines.
- Liaise with clients and subcontractors where necessary.
- Maintain historical data for projects.
- Provide accurate hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
- Coordinating with key project stakeholders to ensure the program accurately reflects the project activities/milestones and support the project team with project control information to populate daily, weekly, and monthly internal and client reporting requirements.
- Development and ongoing maintains fully resourced loaded schedules.
- Capture of all time delays caused by EOT’s or change event notices and ensure changes are properly captured through the Project Change Management (PCN) process.
- Updating and editing the master schedule and other schedules as required
- Flags risk and deviations from the critical path
- Detailed knowledge of Industry best practice in project scheduling.
- Preparation of relevant documents and reports such as progress report and client report.
- Oversee the Contractors' resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization for Project efficiency in line with the Contractors’ baseline schedule.
- Monitor the progress of the Project against approved schedules, identify any delays or issues, and propose solutions to keep the Project on track and ensure that all milestones are met as per the project timeline.
- Consistently maintain the projects schedule.
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years’ experience working in a scheduling capacity on construction in a heavy industry sector (Planning experience is a strong asset)
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical, structural, mechanical engineering or construction management
- Proficient skills and knowledge in Primavera 6 (essential )
- Strong time management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Understanding of Earned Value Management within a Program / Project environment.
- Extensive project scheduling experienced in Primavera P6 & able to develop and implement end to end planning for programs of work. Capable of creating & maintaining accurate & constructible, resource loaded programs of work, preferably with engineering and construction projects.
- Highly skilled in MS Excel, reporting experience is desirable.
- Effective time management skills to ensure that the project reports are compiled in a timely fashion and workload is managed effectively within agreed timeframes and deadlines.
- Experienced in identifying delays and communicating to stakeholders to ensure contractual compliance.
- Proficiency in Power BI will be highly desirable.
- Ability to self-motivate whilst collaborating with various internal Stakeholders.
- Proven analytical problem-solving skills relating to scheduling performance and reporting.
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
