Job Description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time highly organized and experienced independent contractor for the position Construction Supervisor to oversee daily operations on our client’s construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires hands-on leadership to coordinate trades, manage schedules, and provide clear direction to team members.   • Pay Rate: up to $90/hour based on experience)
  • Location: Kitimat, BC
  • Shift: Monday – Friday | 50 hrs a week
  • Job type: Long Term | Full-time


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates day to day works on the field.
  • Reviews and acknowledges (by signing on) daily work permits, JHA’s and any other field documentation to ensure controls are in place to enable works to be completed safely.
  • Coordinates commissioning Vendors when onsite conducting commissioning activities.
  • Coordinates with operations commissioning activities during commissioning.
  • Oversees training activities during commissioning activities from commissioning vendors to ensure vendors have the proper authorizations to support/conduct commissioning activities.
  • Supports Operations ramp-up activities during ramp-up/performance testing activities.
  • Coordinates permits and isolations with the operations team together with the contractor for the execution of the works. Construction Supervisors are to provide governance to the works meaning they are to review and final approve the permits issued by Operations.
  • Participates in Level 2 Risk Assessments (L2RA’s) with the Project Manager and contractors during mobilization and updates during the execution to close out of the project.
  • Works with the CMX team to ensure the Contractor documentation is properly submitted.
  • Review the Contractor Execution Plan, Training Matrix, ensure chemicals are approved in the Safety Datasheet database to use on site, and any other authorizations and competencies prior allowing works to start.
  • Coordinates contractors and vendor mobilization activities including inductions, licenses, and equipment mobilization.
  • Inform of potential variations or changes to the scope with or without consultation from the Contractor (as result of field works) to the Project Manager.
  • Reviews, approves and process daily/weekly progress reports from the contractor.
  • Reviews and approves daily timesheets for daily works or time and materials type of contracts.
  • Coordinates site establishment activities, including site offices, laydowns and others required facilities.
  • Reviews and formally approves work methodologies and changes during construction.
  • Ensures and monitors contractors plans and schedules, labour, and equipment allocation to ensure the efficient execution of the works.
  • Monitors performance and takes corrective actions as necessary to meet objectives and communicates to the Project Manager and Construction Coordinator.


Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Electrical Trade Qualifications (Red Seal)
  • Min. of 5 years with an electrical background

  • Ensure the smooth day to day operation of work activities on site.
  • Maintain good relationship with site workers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Identify potential problems, escalates, and provide optimal solutions.
  • Extensive experience in delivering projects into a heavy industrial operations and maintenance environment.
