Head of Data Science and Machine Learning

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Data Science and Machine Learning to lead the integration of cutting-edge AI and validated epidemiological methods into transformative healthcare products. This is a player-coach role , ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels in technical execution, and has a strategic vision for driving innovation in real-world data applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the data science and AI strategy, collaborating across product, engineering, and business teams.
  • Lead the development of state-of-the-art innovations across clinical research, care delivery, and life sciences solutions.
  • Contribute to product development by writing production-grade code for analytics platforms and new products.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of data science and machine learning experts.
  • Set and uphold rigorous standards for scientific integrity and ethical AI development in healthcare.
  • Act as a spokesperson and thought leader, fostering partnerships with customers, industry, and academia.


About You

  • Experience: 10+ years in machine learning, data science, or AI, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
  • Education: Advanced degree in computer science, statistics, data science, epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, Git, Docker, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS). Strong coding and deployment expertise for scaling analytical products.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to execute in a startup environment with a bias for action and pragmatic decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills to lead cross-functional teams and engage with external collaborators.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating analytical products into clinical workflows.
  • Established relationships with life sciences or academic partners.
  • Strong research credentials, including publications in high-impact journals.
  • Contributions to open-source software.

Compensation range: $200K–$240K.
