The MPI Inspector is responsible for moving threaded product through a wet fluorescent magnetic particle system, performing a complete full surface visual inspection on the product, and preparing the product for the next manufacturing process.

After a robotic deburring process, couplings are automatically loaded into the wet bench where they are submerged in a fluorescent fluid and magnetized via a low-voltage probe. The product is then visually inspected for cracks, deep pits and deep grinds under Ultra Violate and white lighting, cleaned with compressed air and stacked on a pallet.

Product that does not pass inspection is reworked by grinding or turning on a lathe. After new hire orientation and on-the-job training has been completed, the MPI Inspector will also be expected and responsible to work within the company's safety and quality protocol, work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, transport product to and from their work area, address the deburring and machine scrap operation, and maintain proper inspection equipment operating levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain traceability of product throughout the work process
  • Physically able to lift weights up to 80 lbs
  • Continuous grasping, lifting, bending and twisting
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics
  • Accountable to make improvements or corrections in line with the performance measures relative to the goals of the plant operations
  • Coordinate and lead the operation's workforce to ensure safe work practices and product quality standards are met
  • Routine and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Forklift Operation

Requirements:

  • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent education will be considered
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Trades or Engineering, or a combination of both education and industry experience will be strongly considered
  • Preferred Assets: Experience in operating equipment and being mechanically inclined
  • Demonstration of proficiency with computer systems to include Microsoft Office will be considered
  • Will constantly and consistently push self and others to be top performers and exceed goals
  • Will use logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Is widely trusted and can present the truth in an appropriate and helpful manner
  • Knowledge and working experience on inspecting API, Premium & Semi premium threads will be strongly considered.
