Job Description Provides basic or routine accounting support for one or more financial accounting areas, including general accounting, labor processing, and account reconciliation. Provides timecard support to employees, records labor transactions, promptly researches any discrepancies, performs reconciliations as necessary, and provides reports to leadership in a timely manner.
- Assists General Accounting team on labor processing by providing accurate instructions to employees and ensuring timesheets are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Works directly with employees to answer timekeeping compliance and system functionality inquiries.
- Supports new hire setup process.
- Summarizes individual ledgers and transfers data to the general ledger.
- Assists with the month-end financial close process – including journal entry preparation.
- Maintains accounts by identifying, verifying and recording transactions.
- Performs all work according to applicable rules and regulations including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and organization policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED
- 0-2 years of accounting experience.
Other Job Specific Skills - Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); experience with Cost Accounting Standards and the Federal Acquisition Regulations a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, in respect to dealing with employees, supervisors, and external contacts.
- Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint or other accounting software systems a plus
