Cleveland Clinic is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the nation.nnMagnetic resonance imaging technologists, also referred to as MRI technologists, utilize magnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI technologists must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly, and effectively record the requested diagnostic images.nnA caregiver in this position works Day/Evening Rotation, from 11:00am-7:30pm or 7:00am-4:00pm.nnA caregiver who excels in this role will:nnPrepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.nnAcquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.nnVerify and validate the patient screening safety form.nnPerform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.nnPerform venipunctures.nnEducate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.nnEnsure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.nnAssist with scheduling patients.nnAdminister proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.nnAcquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.nnComplete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.nnImmediately report any malfunctions, observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or call for service.nnMaintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.nnProcess billing via RIS.nnPotentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.nnMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnGraduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT.nnRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing.nnOR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways.nnCertification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) required within one year of hire.nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification.nnKnowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.nnPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnOne year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities.nnOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
