Job Summary:nnUnder the direction of the Radiologist, CT & MRI Manager, and supervision of the Lead CT Technologist, participates in the daily operation of the CT Department with a focus on Radiation Safety, CT education, CT scan competencies and training to prepare for the CT Registry exam. Ultimately, the Trainee will be able to perform CT procedures in accordance with department protocols at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. The CT Technologist Trainee will, over time, be able to perform a variety of technical procedures including but not limited to interventional cases, CT Angiography, and advanced 3D reconstruction. These procedures require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply theoretical CT Scan knowledge into practice for providing the best possible imaging for the diagnosis. Additionally, the CT Technologist Trainee will receive training for the administration of IV, oral, and rectal contrast. The CT Technologist Trainee must be willing and able to contribute to the coverage of the CT department beyond normally scheduled hours. Responsible to maintain equipment and supplies, must maintain a clean and organized work area.nnEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesnnSupports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.nnUtilizes the ASRT education module CT Basics to satisfy the ARRT 16-credit Structured Education Requirement for CT Registry eligibility.nnCompletes all Educational Credits necessary for CT Registry.nnCompletes all Scan Competencies necessary for CT Registry.nnAcquires scans according to radiologist and department protocol.nnInforms patients of exam and provides instruction to assure patient cooperation.nnAssists radiologist during Interventional Procedures.nnCoordinates daily workload by scheduling inpatients and prioritizing emergency department patients with consideration of the outpatient schedule.nnReviews IV Contrast Questionnaire with patients receiving IV Contrast.nnCompletes documentation in Epic EMR.nnReviews exams in PACS for completeness prior to submitting to the radiologist.nnResponsible for the safety of all patients.nnFlexible to assist with the 24/7 coverage of the department.nnArrives on time for all assigned shifts.
