Position Summary The Associate Designer will work on all aspects of the product lifecycle from concept to final development and sampling
for Men's Woven Dress & Sport Shirts, and other internal brand Sportswear initiatives as required.
Major Responsibilities - Adobe Illustrator flat sketch predominantly for woven shirts, cut & sewn knits
- Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop prints and yarn dye patterns
- Daily email communication with overseas fabric mills, factories and offices
- Responsible for strike off and lab-dip review & approvals, communication & organization
- Input detailed design sketches, material information into corporate shared drive
- Help organize and maintain design records/area
- Keep clear records of all tech packs and design development: color, prints, trims, reference tears, etc.
- Organize all proto and sales samples and assist with showroom setup in current season
- Awareness of men's furnishings and sportswear markets as well as general fashion trends
Required Skills/Knowledge - Proficiency in: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Windows (Outlook / Word / Excel). PLM knowledge a plus.
- Passion for creating product within pricing targets
- Ability to evolve current programs and create product targeting specific "white space" for accounts
- Excellent design and sketching skills
- Strong fashion and creative ability. Keen trend and competitor awareness
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Positive team player with the ability to work well with multiple team members and cross functional areas
- Sense of urgency and accountability, driven by a strong work ethic
- Ability to meet deadlines
Experience Needed - 2-3 years' experience working in a design or product development team with over-seas supply chain.
- Understanding of fabric & trim materials required
