Minimum Qualifications:

High School or equivalent AND completion of one of the following:
n
n- Certified as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
n- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI
n- Satisfactory completion of a formal cardiac sonographer training program (1-4 years) must be registry eligible and attain certification within one year
n- Graduate from a diagnostic ultrasound training program (2-4 years) with 1 full additional year of full-time clinical experience in a dedicated echocardiography laboratory and registry eligible and attain certification within one year.
n- Two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences with two years experience in a dedicated echocardiography laboratory and registry eligible and attain certification within one year.

n- Responsible for acquisition, recording, analysis and presentation of patient examinations, to include routine, stress and transesophageal procedures.
n- Determines the most appropriate testing techniques for a patient in order to obtain the optimal information desired by the attending physician to answer clinical questions.
n- Informs the attending physician of findings in difficult or unusual cases before the patient leaves the area.
n- Attends daily echocardiography interpretation sessions.
n- Participates in the teaching of fellows and junior colleagues, conferences and preceptorship programs.
n- Cares for and maintains echocardiography equipment.
n- Responsible for cleanliness and order of the immediate laboratory area.
n- Notifies the proper personnel of the need for specific laboratory supplies.
n- Responsible for proper record keeping, data storage and retrieval for clinical and/or research purposes.

Salary Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule:
n
n- Full-time; 40 hours per week.
n- Primary Clinic Location is Webster, but also covers Galveston PCP clinic one day per week.
n- Travel/Floating: Position covers both inpatient and outpatient Pediatric Echo in Galveston and Webster. Supports Clear Lake Clinic/Clear Lake Hospital and PCP Clinic/John Sealy Hospital/Shriners Hospital
n- Night/Weekend/On-Call Coverage: Position requires alternating 24/7 call for 7 days at a time. During call, the position supports needs at both Clear Lake Hospital in Webster, John Sealy Hospital, and Shriners in Galveston
