CNE-616 - MRI Technologist - Warwick, RI - 8 Weeks Contract Sigma Healthcare Staffing is currently looking for an experienced MRI Tech to work onsite to work at our client's facility in Warwick, RI.

Summary: - The MRI Technologist performs MRI imaging procedures and related techniques resulting in the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. Follows professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities - Prepare and calibrate the MRI unit for daily operations on both low and high-field magnets.
- Be able to select proper imaging parameters based on an individual patient basis.
- Be able to screen patients and visitors prior to entering the MRI procedure room.
- Asses the patient's physical condition with respect to the patient's tolerance to complete the exam.
- Be able to clearly explain to the patient the MRI exam and what to expect.
- Verify and/or obtain informed consent for examinations requiring consent.
- Obtain and record patient history from the patient's chart by referring physician requisitions and/or by interviewing the patient.
- Place the patient on the proper gurney for the proper imaging position.
- Place the proper coil for satisfactory examination.
- Protect and immobilize patient in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Utilizes a wide variety of technical equipment, including computers, radio frequency generators, gradient coils, Multi-format cameras, film processors, and other miscellaneous equipment to produce MRI images.
- Utilize complex algorithms to produce axial, sagittal, coronal, and oblique MRI images.

- Ability to troubleshoot an equipment problem and report to proper personnel.
- Assist the radiologist in modifying and developing new imaging protocols.
- Assist in the development of technical factors and image medium selection.
- Participate in continuing educational in-service for technical staff and other hospital support staff.
- Participate in clinical instruction and supervision of radiological technologist students.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the latest developments in the MRI field.
- Practice sterile technique and follow infection control procedure.
- Observe hospital policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain ethical conduct with all medical and non-medical personnel.
- Maintain a clean and orderly working area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Education: - Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Certification, Registration & Licensure: - Registration required: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.
- Licensure required: Licensed and Certified by the RI Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
Experience: - Three years experience as a MRI Technologist required.
