General Description:
An electrical apprentice works directly under the supervision of a qualified journeyman electrician in installing or maintaining a variety of approved wiring methods for distribution of electrical light, heat, power, radio and signaling utilization systems.

  • Ensure a safe work environment
  • Participate in CCI's STEPBACK safety program and stay compliant with online training n Virtual Training Assistant (VTA).
  • Review and comply with the various Client's safety programs.
  • Your responsibility includes always representing the Company in a professional manner.
  • Work is performed in existing or commercial and industrial buildings and other outdoor above and below grade installations.
  • Plans layout installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment by performing the following duties.
  • New or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Measure, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical.
  • Terminate wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric devices or motor, and installs grounding leads.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, toner, and oscilloscope.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Alaska Electrical Apprentice's Fitness Card
  • A valid driver's license
  • Current OSHA 10 training is preferred
  • TWIC card to be obtained upon hire if contract required

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, high or precarious places, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard.

  • MOBILITY: Must be able to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
