This is an externship opportunity for a recent college graduate with a business management, electrical or mechanical engineering degree with 2 years of project management experience and an interest in Sustainability.
The funding for this program is for DC residents only.
Must show proof of DC residency.
The project manager is responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading projects from ideation through completion. This position requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders and most often involves managing several moving project parts simultaneously.
Duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Determine and define project scope and objectives
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively and efficiently and coordinate with the management personnel
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Coordinate and verify delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites
- Coordinate efforts with clients for overall completion of project
- Identify, analyze and manage project risks
- Develop and manage detail, project schedule, and work plan based on established deadlines
- Analyze team scalability
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy adjustments, and progress
- Utilize industry, best practices techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution
- Monitor progress and performance and identify areas for improvement and make adjustments as needed
Required Education/Skills
- Four-year degree in business administration or engineering
- Two years of project management experience
- PMP certification
