We are looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join the Sterling team. This role will be based out of Houston, TX . This position will report to the Director, Sourcing & Procurement.
As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for:
· Developing, optimizing, implementing, and managing sourcing strategies and relationships with Direct Material Suppliers in North America.
· Participating in contract negotiations, vendor selection, and supplier performance management.
· Collaboratively working cross functionally with business stakeholders to drive down variable costs and assure cost competitive, sustainable supply of critical raw materials.
· Manage a Raw Material Portfolio of $100+ million in spend
· Develop sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and new technologies to achieve optimum pricing and supply strategy.
· Track and report cost savings and cost avoidance from sourcing initiatives.
· Negotiate, implement, and manage contracts, ensuring adherence to all company policies and targets related to raw material sourcing.
· Identify opportunities for new supply options and make recommendations to reduce cost, mitigate risks, and optimize net working capital.
· Establish, analyze and report metrics to track vendor performance. Conduct performance and business review meetings with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement and value propositions.
· Serve as a primary point of contact to develop and manage relationships with key suppliers and service providers.

· Basic understanding in respect to changing global markets

Education & Experience:
Minimum Four Year Degree with focus on supply chain, procurement, chemistry and/or business or equivalent
Industry experience
· A minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in sourcing
· Experience in Chemical manufacturing and/or oil & gas desired.
· High-level knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
· Preferred experience working with ERP (SAP)
