Sr Operations Coordinator
This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.
This position supports the Defense Health Agency, Armed Forces Health Surveillance Division (AFHSD) –Biosurveillance Program (BSV-p). It requires superior operational support from a dynamic team of scientific professionals, including military, civilian, and contract personnel. Accordingly, a high degree of administrative expertise and responsiveness is required. Previous military environment experience is preferred, as this person must interact with senior-level service-specific (Navy, Army, and Air Force) public health and medical leaders.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated Starting Salary Range for Sr Operations Coordinator: $82,500 - $92,500
- Pay commensurate with experience.

Sr Operations Coordinator Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting with task management, including distributing requests to appropriate team members, collating team members' responses, and providing consolidated responses to leadership for review.
- Establishing official administrative processes by developing standard operating procedures to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of day-to-day operations.
- Serving as the POC for weekly and ad hoc staff meetings. This includes scheduling, confirmation of presenters, preparation of agendas, setting up the meeting room/teleconference/web collaboration, advanced preparation of documents/meeting information for leadership, and meeting minute preparation.
- Assisting staff in producing and submitting presentations, abstracts, and ad hoc reports, including routing through AFHSD approval processes.
- Preparing memorandums, letters, documents, and spreadsheets as requested using appropriate formats.
- Coordinating travel arrangements using the Defense Travel System (DTS), including routing and tracking approvals, preparing travel orders, scheduling transportation/hotels, and completing payment vouchers.
- Scheduling visits, notifying organizations and officials to be visited, arranging for local transportation, and facilitating visitor request coordination.
- Maintaining Contractor and calendars.
- Onboarding new employees, including arranging Common Access Card (CAC) appointments, requesting a government laptop and required software, and providing instruction for required training and timekeeping.
- Coordinating and assisting with AFHSD events, such as large conferences and foreign delegations.
- Managing tasks received through EMTS by delegating them to the necessary task owner, tracking progress, and closing out completed tasks.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Sr Operations Coordinator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Certified Administrative Professional
- 6 - 10 years experience in administrative management
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Defense Travel System
- Excellent analytic, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Time management expertise
- Strong sense of urgency, flexibility, and the ability to multitask.
- Team player, respectful of others, with a high level of professional and personal integrity
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
