Senior Lighter - FC

About the role : Lighters create atmosphere and enhance realism, tone, and depth in a scene. Using their craft, lighters balance visual elements, enabling the team to create convincing images and environments.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Senior Lighter, you will use your technical skill as well as your aesthetic ability to create images that not only look good but are optimized for performance. You will ensure there is consistency in lighting, color balance, and mood between the various elements, shots and scenes in the game. Where appropriate, you will ensure the CG looks photorealistic. You will be expected to respect and follow an established design theme for a sequence or project. You will be able to refer to the relevant production designs and apply that visual style as faithfully as possible, taking care to maintain continuity throughout the scene and game.
Your Qualifications
- At least 6+ years of AAA games production experience.
- Possess solid artistic skills, including a thorough understanding of color theory, composition, light, and form.
- Experience with a 3D CG package (e.g., Maya, Mental Ray),
- Demonstrated understanding of rendering, lighting, shading networks, polygonal modeling, and texture UV's.
- Lighters should also understand the characteristics of light and how it is simulated in a CG environment
- Able to work from reference materials, identifying and translating key lighting details into applicable information
- Should be able to light-moderate to complex interior and exterior scenes.
- Experience with film, photography or theater lighting is a plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
