Description

Steelcase is hiring a Director of Strategy & Development that will focus on growth and business unit strategy, partnerships, and innovation to position the organization for success.

What you will be doing:

  • Global strategy development and implementation and M&A planning and implementation.
  • Collaborate with Senior Executive Team to develop long-term and annual strategic plans.
  • Identify, evaluate, and promote strategic opportunities for long-term corporate growth.
  • Work with functional leaders to include corporate priorities in the business unit planning processes.
  • Work across the organization to elevate overall strategy acumen.
  • Partner closely with internal and external research partners to guide research requirements and application of insights to business.
  • Stay well-informed of emerging customer trends and emerging methods of strategy practice.
  • Assist in the process of evaluating acquisition candidates


What we are looking for:

  • Strategy Consulting Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least two years of strategy consulting experience from a top-tier management consulting firm, with experience in both growth strategy and performance improvement activities
  • Structured & Logical Thinking: Superior critical thinking skills are critical to this role, including the ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and demonstrate a 'nose for value' to discern what is important and draw valid conclusions.
  • Results Oriented: Proficient at translating strategic priorities into operational reality, ensuring measurable and sustained results.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional presentation skills and high emotional intelligence is critical. Leadership experience is highly valued.
  • Analytical Aptitude: Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in growth strategy and development activities, while experience with business valuations, negotiations, mergers, and acquisitions is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior people leadership
  • MBA degree
