    Job Requirements
  • Must have 2.5 years of nursing experience
  • First 6 months do not count for experience
  • Epic experience is required
  • General surgery experience required
  • Total joint experience preferred but not required
    Schedule Information
  • 12 hour shifts: 0545-1815 and 1730-0615
  • Weekend Requirement: typically every other but depends on needs
  • Holiday Requirement: yes
    Unit Specific Information
  • Common diagnoses include Total Joints, general surgeries, gyn surgeries, general medical patients including CVA, PNA, CHF, ETOH, end of life care, COVID
  • Common titratable drips include Insulin
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Clean and professional
  • Unit/Department specific orientation lasts 1-2 shifts depending on experience
    Additional Details
  • Housing is very difficult with pets
  • RNs are required to titrate insulin drips
  • Charge nurse takes patients at a lower ratio, hospital supervisor 24/7
  • Yes, there are nurse aids on this unit, with ratios of 7-8
  • Yes, we have a Central Monitoring Unit staffed with a Monitor Tech at all times
  • RN's read strips and verify measurements and interpretation by Monitor Tech
