Job Description Northwestern Medicine is actively seeking fellowship trained BE/BC general Gastroenterologists who are board-certified, who are looking for a primarily inpatient position and are able to efficiently perform routine endoscopy and efficiently manage patients with gastrointestinal diseases. These positions will perform endoscopy generated from the emergency department and the inpatient consult service. An ideal candidate should be competent in basic upper and lower endoscopy, enteral access (PEG placement), and management of GI emergencies such as upper and lower GI bleeding, food impactions, and management of volvulus. The hospitalist will work in conjunction with 1-2 established interventional endoscopists and other NM subspecialists.
- Hybrid Model; Outpatient and inpatient service. Inpatient service will cover by rotating a week at a time.
- This position will be supported by an Advanced Practice Provider to facilitate inpatient consults and transition of care
