Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and high-resolution scanning to ensure high-quality specimen preparation and digital capture.
- Manage histology requests from receipt to completion, maintaining timely communication and providing insightful feedback.
- Oversee clinical and non-clinical sample logistics, ensuring compliance with protocols.
- Implement quality control (QC) measures to ensure histological integrity, maintain equipment, standardize practices, and ensure data accuracy.
- Provide guidance to R&D scientists on histological techniques, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in the lab.

- Strong experience in quality control and laboratory management.
Top 3 Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Knowledge of sample tracking and inventory management.
Disqualifiers:
- Lack of relevant certification (HT/HTL ASCP) or relevant degree (AS/BS in Histology, Biology, or related life science).
- Overqualification (e.g., PhD without hands-on experience in histology) or underqualification.
- Less than 5 years of relevant experience.
Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Biology, Pathology, or a related field .
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a histology laboratory setting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent record-keeping abilities and adaptability in learning new processes and technologies.
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills, with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with brightfield and fluorescence imaging, as well as digital pathology systems.
- Proficiency in specialized histological techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and laboratory information systems (LIS).
