About Us : At Passerine, we are excited to bring a high-level Indian dining experience to NYC. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional food and service, inspired by the Michelin-starred vision of our talented Chef Chetan, who earned accolades in DC last year. Our goal is to create a memorable dining experience that reflects the rich flavors and traditions of Indian cuisine while aiming for a Michelin star in our new home.

Position Overview:
As the Maitre d', you will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for setting the tone for their experience from the moment they walk in. You will oversee the guest experience, manage reservations, and lead the host team to ensure smooth service and seamless guest interactions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a passion for delivering top-notch hospitality.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner.
  • Manage reservations and walk-ins efficiently, ensuring the best seating arrangements.
  • Lead and train the hosts team
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and communication between front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
  • Ensure all guests are satisfied with their dining experience and address any issues that arise.
  • Assist with event planning and private parties, when necessary.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and ambiance of the dining area.
  • Manage guest flow during peak hours to minimize wait times and ensure a smooth operation.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Maitre d’ or in a similar front-of-house leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of reservation systems ( Resy) and POS systems (Toast).
  • A passion for exceptional guest service and creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
