Cafe Mado is seeking an experienced, passionate, and professional Maitre D or experienced Hosts to join our team!
Redwood Hospitality is seeking a Maitre D or Host with year of experience to join the team at their newest venture, Cafe Mado. This cafe is more than just a cafe, as it is taking over the home of our Michelin-starred Oxalis (while Oxalis moves to a new location), bringing a more casual but similarly thoughtful and hospitable offering to a neighborhood we have called home for over five years. Cafe Mado will be the third project from Redwood Hospitality, after Oxalis, Place des Fêtes and Laurel Bakery. Café Mado serves a full service lunch and dinner in our Atrium, Dining Room, and Garden, with coffee, Laurel Bakery pastries, breakfast items and pre-prepared foods offered in the front room of the restaurant.
Cafe Mado is looking for an individual for our lunch and dinner service to guide the guests' experience from the moment they enter the foor. We are seeking someone that can develop personal relationships with guests with ease, who pays as much attention to detail as we do, who’s looking to be part of a prideful team. You will play a role in optimizing the book through creative problem solving, reaching out to guests on the notify list, and maintaining a thorough understand of the flow of service. Experience with Resy is required.
The ideal candidate has:
- 1.5+ year Maitre D, Head Host, Guest Relations experience in NYC or another major city
- Extensive knowledge of Resy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to think on your feet
- Strong problem solving skills
- A track record of developing a good rapport and personal relationship with guests
- A great memory for names and faces
- A flexible schedule with open availability
- A go-getter attitude
