Facility Address: 4801 Highway 6 West St Cloud MN 56303 Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities (listed are included but not limited to): - Shall admit and coordinate all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients including admission, appropriate placement within the hospital, evaluation and treatment, discussion of end-of-life preferences, consultations with sub-specialists, and timely and proactive discharge planning.
- Will be responsible and accountable for assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient problems, including prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic intervention.
- The scope of practice of a nurse practitioner includes, but is not limited to, each of the following:
- Ordering diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, performing those tests and procedures when using health care equipment, and interpreting and using the results of diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures ordered by the advanced practice registered nurse or another health care professional.
- Ordering treatments, ordering, or applying appropriate medical devices, and using nursing, medical, therapeutic, and corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.
- Providing palliative and end-of-life care.
- Providing advanced counseling, patient education, health education, and patient advocacy.
- Shall provide care to patients in critical care/acute care settings in conformance with VA policies. Shall assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. This includes running code teams and rapid response teams.

NURSE PRACTITIONER REQUIREMENTS: - Must have a Master's degree in nursing.
- Must have a current and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Must be certified by the AANP.
- Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from a provider recognized by the American Heart Association.
