The sonographer integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.nnPrimary Position Responsibilitiesnn1.Performs all ultrasound procedures (General, OB-Gyn, Breast and/or Vascular, as appropriate) including patient positioning, machine set-up, image acquisition, measurements, and post-processing.nn2.Follow all National Patient Safety Goals.nn3.Provide recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms.nn4.Review orders, explain procedure, answer questions and provide a high level of patient satisfaction.nn5.Assist physician in the performance of invasive ultrasound procedures, if applicable.nn6.Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.nnQualificationsnnMinimum Education:nnRequired:nnGraduate of an Accredited School of Diagnostic Medical SonographynnPreferred:nnAssociate or Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field of StudynnMinimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):nnPreferred:nn1-2 years of prior experience in UltrasoundnnLicense, Registry or Certification:nnRequired:nnRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Credential or registry-eligible in appropriate areas of Ultrasound (general, OB-GYN, Vascular)nnKnowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:nnRequired:nnSkills in diagnostic ultrasound examination and ability to integrate scientific knowledge and technical skills to effectively interact with all patients to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
