We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Head of Metadata Management  to join our ENTERRPISE DATA MANAGEMENT  team. This role is in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL- HYBRID.

n

Enterprise Data Management is focused on implementing enterprise data & governance, delivering the firm’s master data strategy, driving holistic access to data via our Lake, and enabling the business to deliver advanced outcomes for ourselves and our customers using AI/ML techniques.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensuring the quality, integrity, and governance of metadata across the organization’s data landscape. 
  • n
  • Lead a team responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining metadata standards and practices to support data governance, data lineage, and data management activities. 
  • n
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive metadata management strategy aligned with the organizations data governance and data management objectives. 
  • n
  • Partner with technology and business partners to adhere to metadata standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of metadata across various data domains and systems. 
  • n
  • Responsible for managing multiple development projects, often global in scope. Directs and provides guidance on the analysis and design of data models and logical databases at the data element level consistent with the corporate architectural models. 
  • n
  • Support the design and implementation of metadata repositories and tools to capture, store, and management metadata effectively. 
  • n
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including data owners, data stewards, and IT teams, to gather metadata requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance metadata management capabilities, streamline processes, and optimize resource utilization

  • Support data lineage and impact analysis activities by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of metadata documentation and lineage mappings.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

n
    n
  • Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 12+ years of experience in data modelling/warehousing with related management experience, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • n
  • Experienced hands-on Data and Metadata Management, from concept to implementation with a demonstrable track record of delivery.
  • n
  • Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages multiple data modelling/warehousing teams.
  • n
  • Strong stakeholder management and people skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure. You will have strong analytical and management skills, are familiar with Agile methodology and played an active role in scrums such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and execution. The ability to apply backlog prioritization to define sprint goals and enable iterative deliveries is key.
  • n
  • Experience with complex data structures and ingestion methodologies to curate data with an interest on how core areas in applied machine learning such as NLP, computer vision, and personalization can accelerate successful outcomes.

  • People Leadership, be able to inspire and build momentum across a global team but you are also a team player, happy to roll up your sleeves when needed.

Manages a medium to large-sized or multiple small teams responsible for the planning, design and development of the corporate information bank. Manages analysis of application data requirements for new and enhanced data processing applications and the development of conceptual and logical models of the data as a prerequisite for physical database design. Coordinates the logical design of databases to promote data sharing and to reduce redundant data processes within the corporation. Directs and provides guidance on the analysis and design of data models and logical databases at the data element level consistent with the corporate architectural models. Manages the development of logical database designs across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, client server, distributed systems, Web, e-commerce). Seeks opportunities to promote data sharing, and to reduce redundant data processes within the corporation by identifying common structures across application areas. Defines, maintains, and enforces the use of standard naming conventions, and ensures that meta data captured in logical design phase is documented. Provides comprehensive consulting to client and IT management and staff in the identification and resolution of information flow and content issues. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages one or more data modeling/warehousing teams. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 10+ years of experience in all phases of data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, data entity analysis, logical database design and relational database definition, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus..
