Looking to start 2025 with something new! We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Desktop Support Technician to join our client in Bloomington, IN.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in supporting Windows and Apple environments, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering top-notch customer service.
This role will involve working directly with end-users to resolve IT issues, manage support tickets, and maintain a seamless technology experience. This is a contract role and the expectation is that you will work onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for Windows and Apple (macOS and iOS) devices, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Manage and respond to support tickets through the organization’s ticketing system, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Set up and configure new hardware and software for users, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Provide user training and support for software and hardware usage.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and best practices for future reference.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in supporting and troubleshooting Windows and Apple products.
- Familiarity with desktop support tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, or similar).
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including Wi-Fi and Ethernet troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric attitude.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in a desktop support or similar role is preferred.
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); an associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator, or Apple Certified Support Professional (preferred but not required).
