Minimum Requirements:
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least six (6) months of construction experience
- Valid Driver's license and vehicle to drive to work sites
Preferred (Not Required):
- Residential construction experience
- Experience hauling trailers
- Carpentry experience
- Basic tools
Employer Notes:
- Employer conducts a background check, drug test and DMV records check prior to first day of employment
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, depending on business needs
- The majority of the work is performed within twenty (20) miles of Salem, OR. If work site is further than twenty (20) miles from Salem, mileage is reimbursed. Mileage reimbursed for driving tasks performed during the workday
Wage and Benefits:
- $16 to $20 per hour, depending on experience
- 401K with 3% employer match after six (6) months, paid holidays and paid vacation after one (1) year
Job Duties:
- Shovel; sweep; pack building materials; pick up and deliver building materials; clean up job sites
- Make dump runs using company vehicle and trailer
- As laborer, you will learn basic construction skills and will be given more in-depth carpentry tasks in the future. Eventually you will learn to cut, nail and brace framing assemblies including cutting headers and building wall assemblies and installing backing, as well as siding and interior trim and finishing
- Learn to understand an overview of construction processes and learn to be proficient in multiple trades; Eventually, carpenters learn all aspects of remodeling and construction while working alongside other experienced team members with the goal to move into a higher position in the future
- Perform any other duties as assigned
