POSITION OVERVIEW: Our ideal candidate is eager for the opportunity to make a visible impact on Operations as we head into a period of significant year-over-year growth. Lead a team of hourly production employees to deliver and exceed established safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals in an SQF-certified chocolate production facility.
Safety First:
Lead by example in Safety, Food Safety, and our Core Values. Follow and enforce all applicable procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and uphold our quality standards.
People Management:
Support a team of 20+ hourly employees, including creating staff schedules, organizing training, and addressing performance issues.
Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as employment, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
Meet with others in support functions to accomplish department and company goals. Build relationships. Communicate cross-functionally via email, phone, and Teams.
Production Management:
You will work with your team on your shift to deliver production and manage day-to-day operations. You will determine action plans, think on your feet, and communicate effectively.
Create work orders, review and analyze production schedules and reports, interpret process parameters and settings, and complete necessary production records as needed.
Work with third-party technicians, contractors, and vendors as necessary to keep the Value Stream functioning effectively and efficiently.
Continuous Improvement:
Be a leader in driving employee engagement in problem-solving and process improvement.
Apply root cause analysis to defects and downtime to recommend or act.
Apply and disseminate Lean manufacturing methods.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred but not required
- At least 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role
- Lean 6 Sigma experience a plus.
- Experience in an SQF-certified facility preferred.
- Experience organizing or leading process improvement activities.
- Technically savvy proficient in MS Office programs, including Excel
- SAP experience is highly desirable.
