Upscale French Restaurant Group is looking to hire a professional and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to assist Executive Pastry Chef as directed and oversee the restaurant’s pastry kitche at our Palm Beach location .
Primary responsibilities:
- Oversees and manages the operation of the kitchen’s staff, including direct management and supervision of all pastry cooks .
- Ensures that all pastry operations meet and exceed the highest quality standards .
- Hires, trains, motivates, and coaches staff as they provide attentive, efficient service to customers, assesses staff performance and provides helpful feedback and training opportunities .
- Keeps track of inventory and places orders according to demand, keeping in mind the season and number of reservations .
- Supports safe work habits and a safe working environment .
- Works well as part of a team and multitasks in discrete time periods .
- Assists other staff in their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests and perform other job-related duties as assigned .
Skills and qualifications:
- Must have at least two years of work experience in a pastry m anagement position or equivalent position in a fine dining restaurant
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required .
- Hold a current Food Handler’s license or must obtain within a month of hire .
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook) .
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation Details: Salary $60,000-$70,000
