Requisition ID: 172496nnJob Level: Mid LevelnnHome District/Group: South Central DistrictnnDepartment: Field SupervisionnnMarket: IndustrialnnEmployment Type: Full TimennPosition OverviewnnAs a Civil / Grading Superintendent for Kiewit, you will function as a field supervisor overseeing civil project operations on industrial construction projects and be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish project goals, either directly or through general foreman/foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architects/engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff.nnDistrict OverviewnnKiewit's South-Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. This means your Kiewit adventure is custom designed to meet our shared needs.nnThe most likely locations for this position are, but are not limited to: Fort Worth, TX; Orange, TX; Houston, TX; Fairfield, TX; Willis, TX; Graham, TX; and Oklahoma City, OK.nnResponsibilitiesnnAct as a field supervisor overseeing civil construction operations on industrial type projects.nnLead and oversee construction operations for lime/cement stabilizations and other civil scopes of work.nnCoordinate with heavy foundation project teams.nnSupervise, mentor, and develop direct reports.nnReview and approve the balance of foremen, journeymen, and laborer’s composite labor rates.nnManage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication).nnDevelop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site.nnInitiate and attend meetings for problem resolution and planning.nnOversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.nnReview, approve, and negotiate change orders.nnDevelop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover.nnCreate, update, review, and maintain daily reports and logs for record keeping purposes.nnEnsure that all performance evaluations are completed and documented in a timely fashion for direct reports.nnRecommend organizational, policy, procedural, and/or staff changes as needed.nnReview, approve, and/or reject promotions up to General Foremen.nnQualificationsnnAt least 8 years of construction experience with experience working in a superintendent/leadership capacity supporting civil construction operations.nnExperience supporting civil project functions on industrial, LNG, and/or power construction projects.nnKnowledge and experience leading/overseeing lime and cement stabilizations.nnAbility to travel and/or relocate as needed to projects located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and surrounding states.nnExperience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.nnMust be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.nnAbility to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software programs.nnAbility to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.nnExcellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.nn#LI-HW1nnOther Requirements:nnRegular, reliable attendancennWork productively and meet deadlines timelynnCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.nnPerform work safely and effectively.
