This is an opportunity for a Project Estimator/Manager to join a luxury brand that has been providing architectural surfaces to discerning members of the trade and homeowners for high-end projects for over 25 years. Our client is committed to authenticity, and ingenuity and finds beauty in the details. The skilled team of artisans prides itself on bringing heritage and history to life by painstakingly recreating and refining traditional methods and lost arts.
The Finished Goods Project Estimator/Manager advances the pricing and production of our imported products: wood, tile, and stone flooring and cut to size projects. He or she works collaboratively with the sales and CAD teams, suppliers and clients to ensure proper project execution within the intended time frames.
Responsibilities
Technical Sales Support
- Work with the Sales Team on a day-to-day basis to provide technical and product support
Pricing and Estimation
- Work directly with clients to confirm technical details for natural stone cut-to-size projects and wood custom orders
- Manage and prioritize sales inquiries for all custom orders (Price Request Dashboard)
- Work with the CAD Team to produce material takeoffs and BOQ
- Own and analyze historical data to develop budgetary cost estimates
- Work with suppliers to obtain pricing and lead time for projects
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers
- Produce clear Itemized estimates for the sales team
- Provide cost effective solutions when presenting pricing
Validation
- Review and confirm project pricing, details, and lead time for custom orders
- Work with CAD Team to produce production packages for projects
- Schedule templating for projects as needed
- Control sample management
Procurement
- Compare POs, Supplier Proformas and Production Packages for custom order validation
- Perform quality control checks for projects at the factory as needed
- Perform quality control checks for projects at receiving
Qualifications
- High school diploma. Associate or bachelor’s degree in interior design or construction management preferred
- 3-5 years of practical experience in interior design, construction management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to read architectural plans and estimate construction projects. Analytical skills. Experience with pricing stone architectural projects preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Diplomacy. Able to develop solid client relations and consultation skills.
- Strong prioritization, project management, organization, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite. Experience in Plan Swift or other take-off software. A working knowledge of AutoCAD a plus. Experience in Sales Force and Stone Profits a plus.
