Vice President of People Advisory
Overview: LHH Recruitment Soluitons is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of People Advisory for our client in Ventura. This leadership role is integral to shaping the employee experience including HR support, navigating complex people-related matters, and driving the business forward through impactful people initiatives. As a trusted partner and advisor, you will collaborate closely with our People Team, legal teams, and business leaders to ensure seamless, efficient solutions in the areas of talent management, conflict resolution, employee performance, and organizational change.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as a strategic advisor to employees, helping them navigate their careers and providing a trusted point of contact for complex HR issues.
- Lead the end-to-end resolution of complex employee inquiries and challenges, ensuring employees feel supported throughout their employment with our client company.
- Work closely within a People Team support pod to deliver holistic, business-aligned support for both employees and managers.
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of employment law to mitigate risk in people-related matters, working closely with the Employment Legal Team (ELT) to ensure compliance.
- Identify trends and themes in employee and manager needs and share insights with the People Team pod to enhance overall support.
- Lead the development and deployment of HR initiatives across the business, collaborating with other People Teams to drive company-wide impact.
- Manage complex business reorganizations and partner across multiple stakeholders to coordinate effective transitions.
- Collaborate with Employment Legal, People Relations, and People Development teams to ensure smooth offboarding processes and compliance with local regulations.
- Proactively address potential conflicts through early identification and de-escalation, fostering a positive work environment.
- Partner with key stakeholders in Legal, Benefits, People Development, and other Centers of Excellence to resolve complex employee inquiries and implement best practices.
- Work closely with managers to support performance management processes, including performance planning, coaching, and tracking progress.
- Lead business projects, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective execution of HR initiatives.
- Engage in conflict resolution activities as needed, fostering a culture of open communication and resolution.
- Provide strategic leadership on other HR-related initiatives and ad hoc duties as needed.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or in a similar HR shared services function, with a proven track record in managing complex people-related challenges.
- Deep expertise in U.S. employment law, particularly in New York and California, with a strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations.
- Proven ability to build strong, trusted relationships with business leaders, managers, and employees, while delivering results that align with business needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide others in complex, high-stakes situations.
- Demonstrated experience in conflict management and resolution, with a calm and thoughtful approach to addressing sensitive issues.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A self-starter with a proactive, independent mindset and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives to successful outcomes.
