Onggi is an upscale casual Korean restaurant that will be located in the vibrant neighborhood of Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Our 2,000-square-foot space will accommodate 60 seats, offering an intimate yet inviting dining experience. The restaurant is slated to open at the end of January 2025.

Inspired by a desire to share the rich flavors and traditions of Korean cuisine, we aim to create a space where the local community and visitors from around the world can gather and enjoy authentic Korean dishes. We hope to offer an experience that captures the warmth and essence of traditional Korean food.

We are looking for a passionate and team-oriented prep cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail. As a Prep Cook at Onggi, you will work under the direction of the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine as well as with other kitchen staff  to prepare ingredients and assist with the production of dishes.

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Dishwasher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for upholding cleanliness and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work well under pressure, and a commitment to keeping the workspace clean and organized.

Responsibilities will include:

• Store clean dishes, utensils, and cookware in the appropriate storage areas.
• Ensure all kitchen items, including dishes and utensils, are properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Support kitchen cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors, disposing of trash, and wiping down surfaces.
• Keep dishwashing supplies stocked and readily available.
• Provide assistance to kitchen staff as needed.
• Follow established safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• A team-focused mindset and positive attitude to work effectively with the kitchen staff.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
