Job Description
Position: Avionic technician
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Type: Full Time
Rate: $60k to $80k/Per Annum
Responsibilities
- Support the Vehicle and Avionics Engineering team in validating the installation and proper functioning of avionics systems.
- Diagnose design and integration issues, as well as avionics equipment failures in simulators and associated systems.
- Suggest corrective actions for equipment problems and implement them upon approval.
- Make minor changes to resolve avionics system issues.
- Coordinate required work to address identified problems.
- Participate in defining and fitting laboratory material test platforms.
- Collaborate with the material engineering department responsible for flight simulators.
- Manage equipment test inventory and assist in the equipment acquisition process.
Skills and qualifications
- College diploma in Avionics Technology.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, with or without AME/FAA licensing.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and other avionics technical documents.
- Solid knowledge of avionics systems and associated terminology.
- Experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) or assembly environments.
- Proficiency in using electronic test equipment and diagnostic software.
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of problems during investigations.
- Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and related tools.
Required experience
- Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
