Summary:
- An athletic footwear and apparel corporation is seeking a Senior Buyer to join their Stores Merchandising Team, focusing on managing a specific business unit within a gender across multiple fields of play in North America. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, including with Merchants, Geo Consumer Merchandising, Planning & Allocation, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, and Brand Marketing to execute the consumer-centric assortment strategy. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of retail, trends, and the consumer landscape while balancing multiple seasons and driving product innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Build consumer-centric assortment plans, blending fact-based and intuitive inputs, and participate in seasonal reviews and assortment building with marketplace-focused merchants.
- Balance multiple seasons while gathering insights from in-market seasons to support future planning and adoption by merchandising leadership.
- Influence the end-to-end product offering through insights, from adoption to execution, while ensuring alignment with global and geo merchandising strategies.
- Develop and deliver seasonal tools to equip marketplace partners with the understanding of priorities and strategic product offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
- 4+ years of experience in footwear, apparel, equipment, or relevant consumer product merchandising, product creation, or retail in a vertical, multi-brand, or digital environment.
- Strong command of common retail and/or digital metrics such as sell-through, margin, full price realization, and weeks of supply.
- Proven ability to translate consumer, sales, trend, and marketplace insights into in-season and long-term breakthrough strategies.
