Project / Role Context

ALTEN Canada is seeking an exceptionally skilled SCADA Systems Engineer/DCS Engineer to support a critical project involving the configuration and remote testing of distribution system elements. You will handle configuration and testing tasks related to distribution system devices, including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and set up parameters for power grid relays.
• Work with gateways (D20 & G500) and Novatech.
• Configure Orion RTUs and gateways.
• Develop SCADA architecture and design SCADA systems.
• Create network diagrams.
• Utilize tools specific to the devices being configured.
• Perform remote testing.
• Troubleshoot configuration and testing issues.
• Participate in weekly meetings with the lead engineer to review progress and technical details.
• Engage in discussions with the Project Manager on cost and commercial aspects.
• Perform minor programming on relays.

Key Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in SCADA configuration and testing.
• Hands-on experience with power grid protective relays, SCADA devices e.g. D20, G500, UR relays, HMI).
• Proven troubleshooting skills.
• Basic networking knowledge (switches, firewalls, routers, etc.) is a plus but not mandatory.
