Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.nnBASIC PURPOSEnnThe purpose of this position is to assist the Program Director in monitoring the daily activities of the staff and children, to enforce the State and County licensing regulations throughout the Center and to assist with the clerical duties.nnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESnnPrepare a safe and welcoming environment that is orderly, clean and appealing, and allows children to explore and grow.nnInteract with children and parents and encourage their involvement in activities.nnAssist Program Director in supervision of Teachers and Teacher Assistants; ensuring that the rules and regulations of The Salvation Army, and Education Codes (Title 5 and Title 22), are implemented.nnMonitor for positive guidance among Teachers and Teaching Assistants.nnAssist Program Director in maintaining and checking children’s working folders and DRDP-R’s.nnProvide feedback to Program Director for annual evaluations of Teachers and Assistants.nnAssist Program Director in evaluating children’s environments twice per year.nnProvide assistance to the Program Director to train and guide teachers in their lesson planning and in the implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and practices.nnFills in the classrooms to maintain adult-child ration.nnMaintain attendance and meal count records in office for monthly stats.nnAnswer telephones and take messages, as needed.nnGive assistance to potential families with CEL, waiting lists and/or family file completion.nnAssist in maintaining current office and janitorial supply inventory.nnAttend staff meetings, trainings and provide training on in-service days.nnIndividual is responsible for overseeing morning or closing shift.nnBe willing to develop professionally by furthering education in Early Childhood.nnOther related duties, as assigned.nnKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSnnEDUCATION REQUIREMENTSnnAA Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Early Childhood education or related field.nnMust have Site Supervisor permit or equivalentnnMinimum of 12 ECE units completed prior to hire.nnCPR and 15 hours of Health and SafetynnContinuing professional development required.nnKnowledge of CLASS helpfulnnSKILLSnnMinimum of 5 years experience working with young children in a childcare setting or Child Development Center.nnMinimum of 2 years supervising adultsnnDemonstrated ability to work with children in an active environment.nnUnderstanding of developmentally appropriate practices for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.nnAbility to communicate well verbally in English.nnAbility to work with people of diverse backgrounds.nnAbility to operate under stressful working conditions in a rapidly changing work environment with multiple priorities is required.nnMust pass DOJ, FBI, criminal and background clearancesnnPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:nnAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. for administrative positionsnnFrequent walking around the Center and communicating with different rooms.nnQualificationsnnSkillsnnRequirednnCPR/AED: NovicennEducationnnRequirednnAssociates or better in Early Childhood EducationnnEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesnnThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
