Position: Trusts and Estates Litigation Associate Attorney

Location: New Hyde Park, New York

Type: Full Time

Rate: $110k to $130k/Per Annum

Overview:

We are seeking an Estate Litigation Associate Attorney to join our client’s growing Trust and Estates Department. The Trusts and Estates team handles all aspects of estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation. This role offers a unique opportunity for an associate to expand their skill set while fostering their own book of business in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with estate litigation matters, including Surrogate’s Court procedures.
• Support estate planning initiatives and learn related tasks.
• Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, adversaries, and witnesses.
• Collaborate with team members in a cooperative and professional setting.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.
• 3-5 years of experience in estate planning, administration, and/or estate litigation.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication skills and a personable approach to client interactions.
• Flexible and able to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.

Preferred Qualities:

• A self-starter with a strong work ethic.
• A true team player interested in working in a collaborative environment.
• A small book of business to foster and grow is a plus, but not required.
