Job Description

The Sales Compensation Manager will oversee a team of professionals managing sales compensation programs. This role ensures alignment of compensation plans with business goals, compliance with legal standards, and effective motivation and retention of top sales talent. The manager will drive sales compensation administration, including commissions, bonuses, and performance analysis, while leading continuous improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of compensation professionals ensuring accurate and timely administration of sales compensation programs.
  • Program Oversight: Ensure the accuracy of sales compensation data, maintain program integrity, and ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Data Analysis & Strategy: Analyze sales performance data and recommend improvements for compensation programs.
  • Vendor & Market Benchmarking: Manage vendor relationships and benchmark compensation packages against industry standards.
  • Reporting & Communication: Present compensation reports and communicate strategies to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Training & Support: Train sales teams and managers on compensation structures and align them with business objectives.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes and implement new tools for improved compensation tracking and reporting.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years in sales compensation, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong background in data analysis, compensation strategy, and reporting. Expertise in compensation laws and best practices.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred). Certification in compensation (CCP, CPP) is desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in compensation systems (Workday, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
